It is hard to believe that "The Dead of Summer" is a début novel, so polished and accomplished is it. The book is comparatively short (just pages) and doesn't take long to read.

But it is by no means a light or an insubstantial read. It is a book that takes you by the throat on page one and just does not let go until you've finished it/5(40).
